Cancer starts to grow when some of the cells inside the body grow uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body. Anticancer drugs which are used to cure those malignant diseases are available in different forms including alkylating agents, hormones and anti-metabolites. Experiments revealed that, there will be an adjacent relationship between the characteristics of alkanes and the physical properties of anticancer drugs like Boiling point, melting point, enthalpy etc. with their chemical structures. Quantitative structure-property relationships (QSPRs) represent mathematical models which are developed by correlating the physicochemical properties/biological activity of compounds to their chemical structures. Topological indices are molecular descriptors used in QSPR modelling to predict the physicochemical properties of molecules. Graph theory plays a vital role in representing the structure of the drug compounds. In this work, degree based topological indices of anti-cancer drugs were studied and QSPR analysis of those drugs were studied using log linear models.

Dr. Kissani Perera is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kelaniya, where she has been a faculty member since 2004. She earned her Bachelor of Science in 2002 from the University of Kelaniya and a Master of Science in Information Technology in 2005 from the University of Colombo. Dr. Perera completed her Ph.D. in 2012 at Kyushu University, Japan. Her primary research interests lie in the areas of Spectral Graph Theory and its applications, particularly in the study of the energy of graphs. Dr. Perera's work contributes to the advancement of mathematical methods in graph theory, with a focus on their practical and theoretical implications in various fields.
We look forward to seeing you there!
